As an in-house UX/UI designer of Tri Petch ISUZU, the goal was to separate big trucks' contents out of the pickup and SUV or multi-purpose vehicle website, in order to separate the brand image clear. Also, accordingly to the user interview, the customer who wants to buy trucks are not interested in pickups and SUVs. Therefore, stakeholders would still want to people to know that the company sell all type of vehicle together, the challenge is to design a main navigation between the 2 sites.
Starting from re-designing the sitemap of the two sites and how would the two sites link, by getting insights from the user interview. In the user interview, we focus on what type of information they would like to know and help shape their decisions. Call-to-action buttons were also considered to help trigger getting more leads.
The new truck sitemap
After the sitemap process, wireframes were designed to communicate with the stakeholders and developers according to all requirements of users and businesses. The goal of designing the truck website is to help customers who have no knowledge of what type of truck suits their usages and business.
So the features that we focus on are two main features:
1. Search with filters
2. Compare truck features
Wireframes for quick decision process for contents and functions.
Search the right truck according to usage and user's business and occupation. (Responsive design for all screens)
Compare the specification of the truck models.
Another main feature of the truck website is the rear body information. From the previous website, the rear body contents were missing, and this was one of the pain points for truck customers. When customers want to buy a truck, customer needs the truck with the rear body for their full usage, but our business does not provide body building services. Therefore we need to give them advice on which models are able to build the specific rear body. According to this pain point in the model pages, we preview all most built rear body, so that user can decide better.
Rear body section for each truck model.
The ISUZU Truck website has been launched and will be followed by the pickups and SUVs website. By monitoring google analytics and other monitoring tools, we found out that a lot of truck customers are corporate customers and they browse through desktops around 50%. According to this information keeping a good responsive design is very important, so that we can provide good experiences through all sizes of screens.
